Pretty interesting! I think some of my keys actually have three strings that they hit. So, did you get it fixed and put back together? What was making it stick? Maybe someone dropped a paperclip between the keys.
Ya it’s such an intricate instrument, more so than I ever imagined, looking at it from the outside. I was able to get it back together but after an hour or so of trying to figure out why it was sticking I still couldn’t get it. I ended up calling Howard the piano tuner and he told me it might be felt stuck in one of the slots in the key itself. He had me try a few things and they helped, but only for a short time so I’ll have to take the piano back apart and adjust the felt there. It’s amazing how well someone can know their field, and diagnose something as tricky as a stuck key over the phone!
