I couldn’t play Yanni for the last time last night so I’ll have to postpone that for another day. Instead, I will give you a sneak peak at my voice and play/sing Join Lennon’s Imagine, the first verse without the chorus. I learned this in about an hour so take it easy, it’s very rough…and the piano is still in pieces

Hey Mate, I finally stopped by to check it out! It’s great you are pursuing your piano!
What recording do you use? Can you go dual mic to pic up the voice sound more?
Cheers
Thanks Sam, I’m glad you could drop by!
I am using a Canon-FS100 digital camera for recordings. It has the input for a directional mic and it looks as though I’ll have to pick one up as I agree, I couldn’t hear myself on the recording very well. Confidence is an issue there too as I wasn’t singing loud. I was unsure of some of the words and since practicing a bit more (the hospital has a piano so I can sneak off late at night and play!) I’ve been able to sing more confidently and loudly.
thanks for the feedback. Did you reinstate your goals of recording 5 songs this year?
By the way, do you have any mic recommendations?
Nice Jesse. How are those voice lessons coming? Nice to see you are using the flashlight I gave you for Christmas. Jenni thought it was Lyla singing in the background. Guess you need to work on projection. Dang those technical difficulties! Still sounds great.
I’ve just been doing more singing, trying to develop things myself. I have a couple videos on voice but haven’t watched them yet, I’ll let you know how they are. I will be getting a directional microphone for the camera to improve voice recording, but I know a lot of it is my own confidence, and I’ve already gotten more familiar with this song and can sing it a bit louder now. It def needs more work though.
Great start!
haha that’s a nice way of putting it.. 🙂 it will get better, really 🙂
This is a nice start. Although, I hate this song. I don’t really like to imagine a world with nothing worth fighting for.
Thanks man and I think sometimes you have to look past the words to get the true meaning of a song, this one being that of peace, not depravity.
