Yanni – One Man’s Dream – Week 3 Makeup Recording

Last Friday’s video was actually a week behind, and this is the real week 3 video. I used a metronome to practice after suggestions from a loyal reader 😉 and it really helped. I’ve also done some work with my sustain pedal to try and improve the the way the song moves forward, I think it has helped.

  1. Awesome job! The funny thing is, I suggested you use a metronome (because it does work) but I seriously hated that thing growing up, haha. Glad it helped though! How many hours a week would you say you practice?

    1. Thanks! I’ve tried to use a metronome before and just couldn’t get the hang of it but that was in April when I first started playing and didn’t know how to read the sheet music notation and didn’t know what to set the metronome to. I’ll be doing a post in the Monday Tips about how to use one, for dummies like me 🙂

As far as practice time, I play as much as I possible can ‘cos I love to! I’d say I average an hour a day, during the week, and triple that on the weekends. When I am learning a new song, I get really into it and can just sit there memorizing it for hours until it’s done, then my practice time goes down when I’m just doing the repetition of practicing. Again, the challenge drives me, the practice and repetition is necessary.

  2. That sounds much better. There are still places where the high notes get drowned out and the end seemed a little hesitant. I really like the better camera angle as well. good Job.

    1. Thanks, and this is all about improving so I appreciate your notes, I’ll try and hit those high notes a little harder and bring out there sound.

  3. Dude, this is so cool! I think you are doing great!
