Ok, so I don’t know how I can lose track of time so quickly, I mean it’s only January! But I did…because I did a second video only 4 days after my first one, this is actually week 2s video and I’ll do a real week 3 video (of this weeks progress) early next week to catch up. Next month will be smoother, I promise 🙂
Anyway, ignore my rambling on the vid and enjoy!

It’s still looking good. As far as the camera is concerned, I suggest you put the camera on yourself every day. That way, you’ll know that you are only going to use 1 out of however many you make that week, so you never feel pressured as if that one take is the one you are using.
Just a thought.
Thanks for the tips. Its funny, if I record myself without talking, I can put the camera out of my mind and play much better, but when I talk to it, I feel like it’s watching me….
I do want the videos that I actually use to be one take, unedited, raw footage of my playing so my ability is transparent, but I don’t think putting the camera on me every day to get used to it will change that, so I’ll do it! Thanks again, what kind of camera do you use?
A tear? that bad huh? 🙂 Thanks Joe, Yanni is great and his music just caught me the first time I heard it, this song in fact. He’s an amazing composer.
Awesome job! I need to find some good sheet music. Something that will inspire me to learn!! Where do you get yours?
Well, for this challenge, I am actually buying the music books of the artists I will be playing through. I usually just Google the sheet music and sometimes I get lucky, but sometimes you’ll get someone else’s transcription of a song rather than the original (did this with Yanni) and it can make things a bit more difficult. The books I’m using are from Amazon and were <$15 each; a birthday gift to myself 🙂
Overcoming stage fright has been the biggest obstacle in my musical career. I totally freak out and mess up if I am recording. So I think recording yourself every week should be a good way to overcome that. You are doing great with it.
The song sounds much more smooth and you have better timing. Now you just need to bring out the melody more.
Good Job!
I’ve done a couple more practice recordings and it does seem to help, but I need more practice talking for the camera which seems to be what makes me really nervous. Thanks!
