Hey guys, this video will mark the first video in my Pianoing challenge. I have been practicing in secret preparing for the launch so this first month will be kind of weird in terms of structure . When I did this video I was a week into the month and half way through the song, Yanni – One Man’s Dream.
(I know, I say “week 3” I was a little nervous! give me a break 😉 )

Very very cool! Are you teaching yourself? Just wondering how you practice. Do you play over and over again? Do you do one hand at a time, use a metronome, etc?? Sounds very good so far!
Thanks! I am teaching myself. I learned how to read the notes, so I decipher the music as I go and memorize it, since I can’t sight read at any great speed. Then I play things over and over again to get better. I do start out with one hand, usually left, first then right then put them together. I do need to use a metronome.. I know my timing is really bad. I’m just trying to hit the right keys for now! 🙂 I’ll be posting weekly lessons, bitesized videos with tips on what I’ve found to work, how I practice, etc. Thanks again!
Great job, it looks really good. It makes me want to put some songs on my youtube channel. It looks like you’re doing really well, and I’m sure you’ll be very happy with where you are by the end of the year.
I’m looking forward to our collaboration! 🙂
Thanks man, I appreciate that especially coming a public musical figure like yourself 😉 your videos always seem so smooth and I’m always impressed, hopefully I’ll get to that point of comfort by the end of the year, not to mention my playing!
PS Our collab is gonna rock!
Good Job Jesse! This should be an interesting journey to follow. I hope after you finish this song you will do another one and video from the very start to the finish. I mean have the first video show your first attempt at the song. That should be interesting. Keep up the good work.
Ya I think I’ll try and do some kind of video compilation so you can really see the progress in one sitting, thanks for the kind words!
